Aftermath

Aftermath is a portrait born from devastation.
On October 7th, during the tragic attacks in Israel, a young man fought to protect his mother. This painting does not aim for realism or technical perfection-it is a vessel for grief, resilience, and the unspeakable weight of survival.

I began with a single, continuous line-an intentional decision to bypass the temptation of control or correction. A single uninterrupted line to depict the uninterrupted trauma experienced by those who live through violence. It allowed the rawness of emotion to surface unfiltered. His eyes were my compass. They are not polished or symmetrical, but they hold everything: fear, sorrow, confusion, and an unbearable tenderness.

His hands held gently at his neck is a quiet cry, a gesture of protection turned inward.

The bracelet on his wrist is a small anchor, a symbol of identity still intact despite the surrounding chaos.
