Sundance

“Sundance” is a 36 x 36 inch oil painting on canvas. Inspired by the dance of color in the background and the eyes of the model that draws you into the painting. When I began this painting I had a vision of doves in the background with peaceful colors below. Often I stand up to a canvas without knowing exactly what type of painting I am going to create. Initially the background had more detailed doves but I decided to loosen up the painting. Her necklace was going to be a feather but the model was wearing the cross necklace so I went with it. I often go with what feels good and do not like anything that appears to be contrived. It is a very spiritual painting. She will be sold in a floating teak color frame.
